Most of the cafes also have options for vegetarians, vegans and other dietary neds. For example Reservoir Vegetarian Bistro is a certified member of the Vegetarian Society, so is the ideal place to stop for lunch when you’re looking for fresh salads, wraps, bruschettas and jacket potatoes made with seasonal fruit and vegetables. Paired with a cup of Fairtrade and organic Owens Coffee, you’ll be set for the rest of the day.
For those of you on the Derriford campus, John Bull Café is based in the John Bull Building and offers cooked breakfasts with a free hot drink to fuel your day. They have also brought back Fish Fridays, where they serve locally caught battered fish with chips and mushy peas, all of which are prepared by their amazing team of chefs who take pride in their exciting, ever changing menus which feature seasonal and locally sourced produce. This is all in addition to their selections of jacket potatoes, savouries, salad pots and paninis.
All of the University of Plymouth cafes vary with their opening times, ranging from 07:30 to 10:00 opening and closing anywhere between 15:30 and 19:00.

Moreover, the university was recognized as one of the top 20 sustainable businesses in 2019, highlighting their dedication to promoting a sustainable food culture within the university.
The University is taking steps to minimize the number of disposable cups purchased and discarded on campus. It’s estimated that in the UK, 2.5 billion paper coffee cups are thrown away annually. To address this issue, University of Plymouth cafes offer a 20p discount to customers who use a reusable cup. Interestingly, using a reusable cup pays for itself after approximately 50 uses on average.
